Delivering ROI

The Problem

In 2016, the Ruth Mott Foundation shifted its investment strategy to focusing on North Flint, the most disadvantaged area of the city. With this shift, there was a pressing need to provide creative solutions to building the capacity of grassroots nonprofit organizations with visionary leaders but little nonprofit management experience.

SIPI helped our organization navigate a time of tremendous growth and change as we added a full-time Executive Director, new board members, and significantly expanded our services with increased revenue from the Ruth Mott Foundation, among others. The team at SIPI did what they said there were going to do by building authentic relationships with our staff, board, and stakeholders while helping us achieve key milestones for growth and sustainability.

The Solution

Working collaboratively with Ruth Mott Foundation staff and grantees, we developed an approach to capacity building that met organizations where they were at. Our embedded capacity building services create trust with leaders, drive revenue, and establish policies, procedures, and tools that empower organizations to scale their impact.
